UVV inspection
for hydraulic presses

Legally compliant, thorough and manufacturer-independent

The annual Accident Prevention Regulations Inspection (UVV) is a legal obligation for every company. We take care of the complete inspection and documentation of all press makes. We inspect strictly in accordance with the requirements of the BetrSichV as well as occupational association guidelines such as DGUV 209-030 (“press inspection”) and UVV 11064 VBG 7n5.2).

As we inspect presses with all types of drives, our service covers the full range of current and previous safety standards:

  • Hydraulic presses: Inspection according to the current DIN EN ISO 16092-3 as well as the former DIN EN 693 for existing machines.
  • Mechanical presses: Inspection according to the current DIN EN ISO 16092-2 as well as the former DIN EN 692 (e.g. eccentric presses).
  • Pneumatic presses: Inspection according to the current DIN EN ISO 16092-4 as well as the former DIN EN 13736.

Our services at a glance:

  • Inspection of intervention hazards (closing movements, rear access protection)
  • Precise overrun distance and overrun time measurement
  • Inspection of the effectiveness of protective fields and movable guards
  • Checking the safety distance and two-hand functionality
  • Faultless functional testing of all safety components

Your advantage with us: By arrangement, we carry out minor defect rectification and maintenance measures directly on site without unnecessary bureaucracy – saving you time and the cost of an expensive follow-up inspection.

Should you have any further questions, we look forward to hearing from you.

Yes. In accordance with Sections 4 and 14 of the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV), the employer is obliged to ensure that work equipment that may pose hazards is regularly inspected by qualified inspectors. Without a valid inspection, the press may not be operated.

The Technical Rules for Operational Safety (TRBS 1201) and the occupational insurance associations prescribe a recurring inspection interval of at least once a year for metalworking presses.

The inspection may only be carried out by a “person qualified to perform inspections” in accordance with TRBS 1203. This requires appropriate technical vocational training, several years of professional experience in the field of presses and recent active professional work in inspection activities.

The UVV inspection carried out by our experts follows a clearly structured process and includes, among other things:

  • Safety and protective devices: Inspection of two-hand controls, Electro-Sensitive Protective Equipment (ESPE/light grids), emergency stop systems and interlocks.
  • Overrun distance measurement: Metrological inspection of braking and stopping times to ensure that the hazardous movement stops in time.
  • Mechanics and guides: Visual and functional inspection of press ram, ram guides and frame structures.
  • Hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics: Inspection of valves, lines, pressures and the entire control and regulation technology.
  • Documentation: Comparison of the operating manual, circuit diagrams and previous inspection logs.

After the inspection, you receive a legally compliant digital inspection report including a defect report, if required. If the inspection is passed, the official UVV inspection sticker is applied directly to the press.

The historical assessment basis is always the set of rules that was valid at the time the machine was placed on the market.

Our inspection service covers the full range of current and previous safety standards:

  • Mechanical presses (e.g. eccentric presses): inspection according to the current DIN EN ISO 16092-2 as well as the former DIN EN 692 and VBG 7n5.1.
  • Pneumatic presses: inspection according to the current DIN EN ISO 16092-4 as well as the former DIN EN 13736.
  • Guillotine shears: recurring safety inspection and overrun distance measurement according to DIN EN ISO 13985 / VBG 7n5.2, taking into account DGUV Rule 100-500 / BGR 500.
